In many kitchens across America today granite countertops have become quite popular. What most people don’t realize is that you don’t have to sacrifice your investment, while keeping those granite countertops clean. For a few dollars, you can mix and own your own gentle cleaning solution for your granite countertops. With each use, be certain to wipe the area down thoroughly with paper towels or a micro fiber cleaning cloth.
Mix the following in a spray bottle
- ½ cup isopropyl alcohol (acts as a disinfectant and dries very quickly)
- few drops of dish detergent
- water
With any stone surface, it’s important that the cleaning solution have a neutral ph level, high acidic levels may not cause immediate damage, but over the long term, the use of harsh materials will become present and will be seen in the form of scratches.
