A simple water leak can cost you hundreds of dollars yearly and in the process, you have wasted all that water.  Do yourself a favor while waiting on your plumber,  “catch it, collect it and use that water from that leaky faucet” and water all your indoor and outdoor plants.

Did you know that a leaking toilet can use upwards of 50 extra gallons daily. That’s alot of waste.

If you believe that you have a water leak, go to the water meter and check your meter reading, after a two-three hour lapse in time without any water running, go back and take down your water meter reading once again.  If there is a difference in the first number recorded, there is a very good chance that you have a leak in a toilet bowl or faucet somewhere in the house. Fix those leaks they are costing you some substantial money.

Are you trying to save on outdoor water usage, try a few of these simple tips?

  • Choose plants that require less water, while designing your outdoor landscape
  • To help retain moisture, use mulch and use it generously
  • Instead of using your sprinkler system, use soaker hoses, this helps to better target water to those plants
