“The Joy of Green Cleaning” by Leslie Reichert has changed the way I clean. I now clean and do laundry with all homemade products and I love it!
I’d thought about doing this for some time, but didn’t take the time to research all the formulas. Leslie’s book has made it so easy. All the formulas for the cleaning products are in this book and contain simple, inexpensive ingredients.
Leslie’s philosophy on cleaning is that she uses ingredients that her Grandmother would have used – most of which you could eat!
Thanks to “The Joy of Green Cleaning” I no longer wear rubber gloves when I clean, open the window or hold my breath – especially while disinfecting the bathroom! This book has simplified my life and saved me money. I highly recommend this book.

As a librarian this book goes out alot! It is filled with recipes you have around the house to clean green. Perfect in everyway and all of them work! Don’t believe the ads that tell you that their products works – people are smarter than that – don’t throw your money in wallyworld either. Clean smart – clean easy.

Being an owner of an all-natural cleaning company in Connecticut I can say that this book is a MUST HAVE!!!
I’ve tried almost every recipe in this book and I use a majority of them on a daily basis cleaning my clients homes.
It’s difficult to nail down just one favorite recipe; I do love the green powder scrub, it’s an awesome alternative to Aj*x. Oh and the Stainless Steel-Chrome Polish is the best ever, and Great-grandma’s laundry soap too.
Thanks Leslie for making such an awesome green cleaning book!!

As a mom of two children under 4, I always wanted to start using more green products in cleaning, but I was intimidated – what products do I use? Where do I find them? There’s so much info on the Internet, it’s overwhelming.
I am so glad I found this book! It clearly outlines very simple, inexpensive recipes you can use to easily make your green own cleaning solutions for the home. And, most importantly, they work! If you’re not into DIY, the author also recommends premade green products you can purchase (and tells you where you can find them).
She also suggests specific cleaning tools, such as reusable sponges, cloths and mops that greatly reduce your dependence on paper towels or other disposable tools. My paper towel usage has dropped dramatically since I started using Skoy cloths. They rock!
I can’t recommend this book enough.

After I purchased this book and used it, I promptly ordered four copies for my daughters/daughter in law. It is the most comprehensive cleaning (green or non green) book I have. Could not believe how well the oven cleaner (baking soda and vinegar)worked. Also could not do without the microfiber cleaning cloth (the green one). Would highly recommend this book and the green products referenced.
