I believe the term is Smegma, the penile discretion from my dog…how do I clean it off of my couch?

My dog has what I think is smegma, he is neutered but once in awhile he gets a yellow green discharge on the tip of his hairy thing (for lack of several better words). He has gotten this nasty stuff on my couch and it has hardened, almost like…hair gel?
The couch it a velvet material FYI
has anyone had this problem before?

should I use a velvet cleaner, goo gone, upholstery cleaner, pet stain cleaner, etc? and specific recommended product to use on my sofa?

    I would just use a little detergent and warm water,and keep rinsing with damp cloth until it is clean.

    The hair gel makes me think of “There’s Something About Mary,” LOL!
