Just got my 5 lb shipment of pieces. I was excited to see this product offered as pieces because the ones I usually order don’t come that way. They are way more effective if you break or cut them into several pieces before using. Unfortunately when I opened the package they look very different. True the soapnuts are in pieces-but they seem more brittle and MUCH lighter in color than the ones I usually order. When I compared the two I found my usual ones to be darker and covered with tons of saponin. The Naturoli brand ones look as if they have been used to make soap liquid and then dried and repackaged. I am going to do a test tomorrow and wash the usual 5 loads with these instead of my others. If I don’t get the same results I will be leaving a negative review and sending feed back. Normally I order from Maggies Pureland Products. They are much more expensive but may be more worth it in the long run as usually I can wash 5 loads and then save them to boil later to get liquid which works to clean around the house.

I recently discovered Soap Nut Pieces from NaturOli. I’ve been using the whole ones and the liquid with great success, however, I now enjoy picking out the equivalent of 1/2 oz in pieces and using them over and over. After about 5 washes I check them out and sometimes add a few more until all pieces are totally used up. It really stretches the usage. They are already a great bargain but I love seeing how many washes I can get out of a few pounds. Who says, “It ain’t easy being green”? It’s not only easy – it’s fun.

I have been looking for recipes to make my own detergent ever since I ran my washer empty with vinegar through a clean cycle and saw how much soap residue was in it. I stumbled across Soapnuts and decided to give them a try.

The soapnuts are sooo easy to use. I put about 6 in the provided bag and drop it in the washer. I have found they last around 6 loads. When most detergents state a load amount on the box they are refering to how many small loads, but the Soapnuts will last through large or small loads pretty much the same, which means way more savings when doing large loads.

They smell slightly like vinegar, but after running them through the wash you really don’t smell anything on the clothing. Most people are programmed to believe that if it doesn’t have an overpowering scent in the end then it isn’t clean, but that isn’t the case. I love the fact that I can control whether my clothing has any additional scent. For me, I leave clothing unscented, but add essential oil to a cloth thrown in my dryer for bedding and towels. The Soapnuts really do eliminate the need for fabric softener and dryer sheets.

I have also used the Soapnuts in my dishwasher with excellent results. I just put about 5-6 in the cutlery tray and reuse them about 5 times. I put vinegar in my rinse dispenser and the two seem to produce great results together.

I have not tried them for anything else, but plan to soon. You can boil the soapnuts to make a liquid soap used for dishes and general cleaning.

When my soapnuts are all used up, there is nothing to throw in the trash. I just toss them outside. This is the most earth friendly product I have ever come across.

    Amazon service is remarkable.

Soapnuts are great. Will probably never use anything else.. No dryer sheets. Clothes are soft and smell fresh and clean. It took that funky smell out of all my kitchen towels. Gave some to family and friends to try.
